Next Space – Infinity: The Dream of a Child was born from the desire to tell the story of Space as an emotional experience, during which the director himself appears before the camera as both a witness and as the child who once dreamed of flying among the stars. Through this gaze, the docufilm explores the spiritual and metaphysical vertigo of exploration and the infinite mystery of the cosmos, also reflecting on how cinema and images have shaped the iconography of space over the course of an entire century.
The voices of children and young people who are already preparing for future space adventures, through space camps or other educational initiatives, reveal the thread that connects desire and discovery. Yet the innocence of a childhood dream is not enough to truly make it happen: at that point, obsession comes into play, and it is precisely along this double track that space engineers and astronauts are questioned in depth.
The next Moon landing mission becomes the central axis and a powerful symbol of a generational dream that will once again be fulfilled before the eyes of the entire world: a key event in technological progress that resonates first and foremost on an emotional level.
Some scenes will be filmed in iconic locations such as Iceland, already the setting for films dealing with boundary themes, in order to visually represent the depth and fascination of the universe and preserve them permanently within collective memory.
